Logan View starts year with win over Palmyra
The Logan View Football team kicked off the 2017 campaign with a 20-13 home win over Palmyra Friday night.
This was a solid win for the Raiders although I expected Logan View to be more dominant than they were.
The Raiders (1-0) travel out west on Friday to take on Central City (0-1).
The Bison lost 27-13 at home to Centennial this past Friday night.
I think this game is a huge and excellent opportunity for Logan View to pick up a big statement win.
When you talk about making the playoffs and taking your program to the next level...these are the types of games you want to win.
Winning this game would be a huge momentum booster heading into next week's home opener with Yutan.
The Raiders definitely have a chance to have a big season, and do some special things.
These next 2 or 3 games are very critical for Logan View in setting the tone for district play.
Getting back to the Central City game specifically...again a great opportunity for the Raiders that they need to capitalize on.
I don't think things will be easy for Logan View by any means, but I look for the Raiders to go out there and play a good game, and perhaps come away with a win.
The ride home would be much more jolly if Logan View is able to come away with a win.
The Raiders have to go out there with a business like attitude and play to win. Logan View has to be ready to play physical, smashmouth football for 4 quarters, and must be ready to outlast, ouhustle, outphysical, and outplay the Bison.
This is a huge game for the Logan View program, and the importance of going out there and playing well cannot be stated enough.
The Raiders just have to go out there and play their game, and give things their best shot.
If Logan View makes a mistake or commits some sort of silly penalty then so be it. Let it go and move on to the next play.
If you're the Raiders all you can ask for is to be in a position to win the game in the 4th quarter.
Hit hard and play for keeps....that's what Logan View has to do.
