Overview:
The North Bend Central Tigers hope to be improved from a year ago, when the Tigers went 0-9.
North Bend Central really struggled last year as they were pretty much blown out in every game.
The Tigers hope to be more competitive in 2015, and certainly they can be.
It takes a tremendous amount of heart and dedication to improve from one season to the next, but there's no doubt North Bend Central is capable of putting a more competitive team on the field this season.
One player who figures to help out the Tigers quite a bit is all-district honorable mention senior Nick Hines.
North Bend Central has to be tough on the offensive and defensive lines this season. The Tigers must play smashmouth football, and knock people off the ball.
The skill guys have to do their job as well. North Bend Central must find success running and passing the ball if they hope to be successful this season.
Stopping the run and pass is equally important for this team. The Tigers really struggled on both sides of the ball last year so they need to see vast improvement on offense and defense.
It will be interesting to see if North Bend Central is any better this year than last. I think you will see this team compete hard week in and week out, and never quit.
Whether that leads to better results on the field, it's hard saying, but I'm sure the Tigers will give it their all this season.
Season Outlook:
There are a number of very winnable games on the schedule this season.
North Bend Central's best chances at wins figure to come against West Point-Beemer, Madison, Columbus Lakeview, and David City.
The tough games are against Pierce, Boone Central/Newman Grove, Bishop Neumann, Columbus Scotus, and Wahoo.
The Tigers aren't in the easiest district, but should be able to give themselves a chance to win a couple of games within the district.
It all comes down to playing with pride and executing if you are North Bend Central.
The Tigers really have to get after it this season, and play their hearts out week in and week out.
North Bend Central may be overmatched in some games, but that doesn't mean they can quit. This team has to remain competitive at all times, and never give up.
It's a privilege to play high school football, and these kids must play the game the right way. Hard work, sacrifice, team work, and dedication is what each and every one of these players has to be about this season.
The Tigers have a chance to do better than they did last year. Even if North Bend Central goes 0-9 again, if they are at least competitive in some of their games, that could be something to build on for 2016.
Winning a game or two this season would be a big improvement for this program. It can happen, the Tigers just have to go out there and make it happen.
