Stanton loses at Battle Creek

The Stanton Mustangs lost a 19-6 decision at Battle Creek Friday night.

It wasn't a bad loss at all for Stanton as the Braves are a very good team, having made the state semifinals a season ago.

I really feel like the Mustangs played a good game. I feel like Stanton is still in a good position to succeed this season even though they fell to Battle Creek.

The Mustangs (0-1) are at Logan View (1-0) Friday night.

The Raiders defeated Palmyra 20-19 in their opener on the road Friday night.

Logan View is a quality, experienced team and Stanton will have their hands full.

The Mustangs have to play at a very high level offensively and defensively if they want to win.

Stanton has to forget about the Battle Creek game, and get ready for the Raiders.

This is a very winnable game for the Mustangs. Stanton has all the ability in the world to win this game, and should.

I look for the Mustangs to improve offensively from Week 0 to Week 1. I definitely feel like Stanton is a much better team offensively than what they showed against Battle Creek.

The Mustangs' defense kept the Braves' offense under control, and that's what Stanton's D has to do against Logan View.

The Mustangs can't let the Raiders explode offensively.

This has to be a bounce back week for Stanton. The Mustangs have to take it to Logan View from start to finish. Stanton has to make a statement in this game.

It's time for the Mustangs to get back on track, and they certainly have a chance to do that against the Raiders.

As long as Stanton puts together four good quarters of football they should be able to come away with a victory.
