Scribner-Snyder rolls Omaha Christian Academy
The Scribner-Snyder Trojans started off the season in successful fashion Friday night, beating Omaha Christian Academy 80-42 at home.
The game was tied at 16 at the end of one, but Scribner-Snyder exploded for 34 second quarter points and held the Eagles to 6 points to go up 50-22 at the break.
The Trojans won the third quarter 14-6 to lead 64-28 at the end of three.
Scribner-Snyder put up 16 fourth quarter points compared to 14 for Omaha Christian Academy.
The Trojans had three rushers go over 100 yards. Michael Broussard ran for 161 yards on 13 carries, and scored four touchdowns, Gunner Palmer ran the ball for 110 yards on 9 carries, and scored four touchdowns, and Darnell Sims ran for 104 yards on 9 attempts, and scored once.
Broussard led the way defensively with 21 tackles. Sims made 10 while Kaleb Fischer and Austin Lampkin recorded 8 and 7, respectively.
Scribner-Snyder racked up 461 yards of total offense, all coming on the ground. The defense surrendered 368 yards of total offense, including 229 on the ground.
It was a good start to the season for Scribner-Snyder. For having a lot of new guys starting for the first time, it appears the Trojans figured out things pretty quickly.
80 points will win you a lot of games. Scribner-Snyder is off to a very good start on the offensive side of the ball.
There is no doubt some room for improvement defensively, but the Trojans are off to the kind of start they were hoping for, and appear to be strong heading into their second game of the season.
Scribner-Snyder (1-0) battles Mead (0-0) on the road Friday night.
The Raiders were just 1-7 a season ago.
This is a game the Trojans should win as long as they are focused and ready to play.
The going will definitely be tougher than the opener in a way with this game being on the road. Scribner-Snyder will have to find a way to win outside the friendly confines of Scribner.
I look for the Trojans to do well. This is the type of game where Scribner-Snyder can do their thing offensively, and work on some things defensively.
I suspect the Trojans will play smashmouth football, and run the ball at will against Mead.
I look for the big boys up front to do their job, and for the running backs and quarterback to excel in the run game.
Anytime you have three players rush for over 100 yards in the same game, you are doing something right.
And certainly Scribner-Snyder is clicking on all cylinders right now.
I think the Trojans will keep things rolling Friday night. I look for Scribner-Snyder to win big.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Trojans put up around 80 points again.
While Scribner-Snyder had a big second quarter against the Eagles, the Trojans also played a complete game.
I look for Scribner-Snyder to play four quarters of football again and roll to victory for the second time this season.
