2019 record: 0-9
Returning Starters: N/A
Overview:
The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Football Team looks for a lot more wins this year after going 0-9 and losing some tough, close games last year in what was an absolute brutal schedule.
Honestly I don't know if you could of had a tougher schedule than the Raiders had last year.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder returns quite a bit of talent back this year, including the likes of seniors Andrew Cone, Brett Uhing, Dru Mueller, Garrett Palmer, Hunter McNulty, Jadin Beckwith, Jayden Korman, Keaton Bushlow, and Riley Hoetfelker along with Juniors Connor Licht, Jacob Purdy, Logan Booth, and Harrison Jordan. Sophomore Aaron Fitzke and Freshman Owen Meyer figure to have a chance to make an impact as well.
The Raiders appear as if they have some really good size up front and have some excellent skill players and playmakers.
I look for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to be very explosive and dynamic this season.
5th year Head Coach Dustin Sealey says his team had to do without a couple of things this past offseason. "We were not able to have our positional chalk talks or play 7v7."
I'm sure the Raiders would have loved to have done that and I'm sure it would have benefited them greatly.
Still though LVSS should have a mighty fine season this year.
That's of course if we don't get shutdown by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Everything is kind of dependent and contingent upon that.
Hopefully we can all make it through an entire football season without any interruptions, disruptions, alterations, cancellations, or postponements.
It may not happen that way, but hopefully it does.
Season Outlook:
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder figures to be much better this year than they were last year.
7 of the Raiders' 9 opponents last year finished above .500 with all but one making the playoffs, and one with a losing record was Boone Central/Newman Grove.
LVSS also lost 3 games by single digits and all but two losses were by three touchdowns or less.
The Raiders have a favorable schedule this year and figure to be poised to make a run.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder gets 2019 State Semifinalist Wayne at home in Friday's season opener, a team the Raiders lost to just 16-0 in Wayne a year ago.
The Raiders also get BRLD and Boys Town at home.
Regardless of what happens in that first game of the season, I look for LVSS to go 6-3 at worst.
If the Raiders can pull off the upset in the opener, then it wouldn't shock me to see them run the table and go undefeated.
Wayne and Boys Town and even BRLD will be very tough though, and LVSS can't overlook teams like Arlington and Fort Calhoun either.
The Raiders have to be ready to get out there and make big plays and shine like I know they can this season.
We could very well be talking about what a difference a year makes for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder this season.
That is of course if we get through the entire season and are not shutdown by the Pandemic.
Coach Sealey says they are very satisfied with the NSAA's decision to move forward with Fall Sports. "We were definitely very thankful and ready to make the most of it."
Sealey adds the team is ready to get after things this year. "I do not know if it had anything to do with missing spring sports or or not… but this team is hungry."
The Raiders open up the season at home against the Blue Devils on August 28th.
