Scribner-Snyder loses at home to Mead
The Scribner-Snyder Trojans lost their season opener Friday night to Mead, 63-0 at home.
The Raiders led 21-0 after one. Mead won the second quarter 13-0 to take a 34-0 lead into the locker room.
The Raiders added 15 third quarter points to go up 49-0 after three.
Mead notched 14 points in the fourth quarter.
Jadyn Smeal was 2-6 passing for 40 yards.
Austin Peters made 9 tackles while Riley Meyer and Brandon Noel totaled 8 and 7, respectively.
Scribner-Snyder amassed 154 yards of offense, including 114 on the ground while giving up 418 yards of total offense, including 324 rushing.
It was a really difficult game for the Trojans no doubt, but Scribner-Snyder has to do what they can to put the game in the rearview mirror and move on.
The Trojans (0-1) host Bloomfield (0-1) Friday night.
The Bees lost 36-22 at home to Wynot this past Friday night.
This figures to be another difficult game for Scribner-Snyder.
The Trojans have to do what they can to put drives together and get stops on defense.
Scribner-Snyder had about as tough a first game as any team is going to have, but it's only the first week of the season and the Trojans are certainly capable of turning their season around.
Scribner-Snyder has to be more physical up front, and must do a better job of slowing down the run.
The Trojans also have to take care of the ball and force turnovers. Limiting penalties is critical as well.
The biggest thing for Scribner-Snyder is to continue to fight, work hard, and believe.
There can't be any quit in this team. The Trojans must keep giving it their all each week.
I don't know if Scribner-Snyder is going to beat Bloomfield, but I think the game has the potential to be a lot closer than it was last week.
It's hard to win any games giving up 63 points and scoring none, but if the Trojans can put up some points and hold the Bees down, they may have a chance.
Scribner-Snyder has to play with pride, passion, fire intensity, tenacity, toughness, and heart, and must never give up.
