Clarkson/Leigh spanks Omaha Nation

The Clarkson/Leigh Football team won 53-6 at home over Omaha Nation Friday night.

Lance Paprocki had 8 carries for 83 yards, and scored twice. Anthony Bruhn had 2 carries for 54 yards, both for touchdowns.

Travis Stanley made 8 tackles.

The Patriots had 261 yards of total offense, all on the ground.

Great team win for Clarkson/Leigh. Just what the doctor ordered, in my opinion.

The Patriots (1-2) host East Butler (2-1) Friday night.

The Tigers won 48-26 at home over Johnson-Brock this past Friday night.

East Butler is a very good team as they have all starters back from last season, but Clarkson/Leigh appears to have gotten healed up and back on track with the bye week and the win over the Chiefs.

I would say the Patriots are re-energized and ready to give East Butler their best shot.

The game being at home helps Clarkson/Leigh out quite a bit, in my opinion.

I look for Bruhn and Paprocki to have good games again for the Patriots.

Clarkson/Leigh's offense and defense was great against Omaha Nation, but especially the defense.

Giving up just 6 points is a big difference compared to the 46 and 62 given up the first two weeks.

The Patriots appeared to have figured some things out over the last couple of weeks, and you can bet Head Coach Jim Clarkson will have a good game plan come Friday night.

I look for Clarkson/Leigh to be prepared and ready for the Tigers. I think fans will see a very focused and determined, but loose Patriots team on the field Friday night.

Clarkson/Leigh really has nothing to lose in this game so the Patriots just have to go out there and play hard and let it rip.

I feel a few wins are coming the Patriots' way the next few weeks after this week so a good, strong performance Friday night would reassure that notion and thought for sure.

Clarkson/Leigh may not upset East Butler, but I feel this game will be closer than if the Patriots played the Tigers the first or second weeks of the season.

I feel this is a different Clarkson/Leigh team than what they were early in the season, and I really think the Patriots will go out there and compete at a high level Friday night.

Depth could certainly factor into this game late, but if Clarkson/Leigh can get out to a big lead, they may be able to hold on in the end and pull off the upset.

A fast start is critical for the Patriots, in my opinion. Clarkson/Leigh can't get off to a slow start and fall behind early. That could spell doom for the Patriots given how good a team East Butler is.

With that said, I think Clarkson/Leigh has to be feeling confident and upbeat heading into this game. I feel the Patriots have a real chance to compete well in this game.
