Logan View loses at Central City

The Logan View Raiders lost 44-21 at Central City Friday night.

I thought Logan View would do better than they did in this game, but credit the Bison for playing well.

The Raiders (1-1) host Yutan (0-2) Friday night.

The Chieftains lost 28-25 at Centennial this past Friday night.

Yutan has lost to two very good teams in Battle Creek and Centennial, but the Chieftains definitely weren't worthy of that No. 1 preseason ranking, in my opinion.

I think this is a game between two teams who had high hopes and expectations coming into the season, but have started off slow.

Both teams really need this game...Yutan probably more so than Logan View, but the Raiders definitely want to win this game and avoid dropping to 1-2.

Logan View was expected to compete for the playoffs this year, and they still could do that, but the Raiders have stumbled out of the gate a little bit I would say.

I think Logan View has a chance to pull of a big upset in this game though. Bob Jensen of the Huskerland Prep report predicted Logan View would spring a big early season upset, and this game could definitely be the one.

You know the Raiders will be raring to go and ready to hit people hard after last week's loss.

Central City is a solid team that Centennial beat by two touchdowns. And given how Yutan almost beat the Broncos it's hard to envision the Chieftains dropping this game, but they very well could.

Logan View is a tough team, and I expect them to be ready to go Friday night.

I feel the Raiders' best football is yet to come and is ahead of them, and I look for Logan View to turn in a much better performance Friday night than what they showed last week.

The Raiders have two stingy home games in a row this week and next to close out non-district play so Logan View has to play well to gain some momentum heading into district play.

I look for the Raiders to give the Chieftains a battle Friday night, but I just don't know if Yutan will lose three games in a row.

Again, it could happen, but you can bet the Chieftains will be pretty ticked off given their misfortunes of the last two weeks.

Logan View has to be ready to go toe to toe and blow for blow with one of the state's best, and be ready for a four quarter battle.

You can bet the Raiders will get Yutan's best effort, and I fully expect the Chieftains to be focused and ready to go Friday night so Logan View has to be ready to answer the bell.
