The Howells-Dodge Football team won 66-8 at Omaha Nation last Friday night.

Omaha Nation 00:00 #2 Christian Moya runs for 35 yards. Touchdown! (Two point conversion run by #30 Cruz Anaya good)

Fourth Quarter

Howells-Dodge 07:03 #88 Micheal Balsley runs for 11 yards. Touchdown! (Two point conversion run by #26 Trevor Jedlicka good)

Horejsi finished with 75 yards rushing on 5 carries, and two scores. Jedlicka carried the ball 10 times for 70 yards, and scored once.

Carter Throener led the way with 9 tackles while Trevor Schumacher, Mitch Yosten, and Carter Jensen made 8 apiece.

The Jaguars tallied 341 yards of total offense, including 291 rushing.

This was a great, dominant performance from Howells-Dodge. Just what the Jaguars needed heading into their bye week, in my opinion.

Howells-Dodge (3-0) hosts Neligh-Oakdale (1-2) Friday night.

The Warriors also had a bye week last week, and lost 58-20 at home to Clearwater/Orchard last Friday night.

Neligh/Oakdale isn't quite what they were last year, but the Warriors are still no pushover in my mind.

The Jaguars shouldn't have much trouble winning though. Neligh/Oakdale downed the Chiefs 70-30 while Howells-Dodge beat Omaha Nation by 58 points.

I think this game could be a little closer than some think, but I look for the Jaguars to win by 3 or 4 touchdowns.

Howells-Dodge has to be sharp and stay focused the rest of the regular season because one slip up, one bad game, could cost the Jaguars an undefeated regular season.

Howells-Dodge has to be focused from start to finish Friday night, and must be ready to take it to Neligh/Oakdale from beginning to end.

I think the Jaguars are starting to regain the form of the Howells and Dodge teams of old, but they have to continue to take care of business.

Howells-Dodge has to win, and win big and impressive the rest of the way to make a strong case as a major playoff contender.

This is the Jaguars' chance to do something special, and they can't let the opportunity slip by the way side.

The Warriors very well might of won state last year had they been eligible for the playoffs so Howells-Dodge has to respect that, and come out ready to play hard nosed, physical, smashmouth football.

The Jaguars have to be pumped, animated, psyched, and ready to roll come Friday night.

The team has to communicate well on the field, and know their gaps and assignments on defense, and the backs have to do what they can to run through openings created by the offensive line.

Receivers and tight ends have to gain separation from the defenders and give VanLengen many throwing lanes to choose from.

Simply put, Howells-Dodge has to come out and play like Howells and Dodge teams of the past, and leave no doubt as to who the better team is Friday night.
