Emerson-Hubbard falls at home to Humphrey St. Francis
The Emerson-Hubbard Football team lost 54-0 at home to Humphrey St. Francis Friday night.
Difficult game for the Pirates, but the Flyers are a very, very good team.
Emerson-Hubbard (1-2) hosts Wausa (2-1) Friday night.
The Vikings lost 52-12 at home to Fullerton this past Friday night.
Wausa isn't a bad team, and this game figures to be very compelling and entertaining.
It's one the Pirates have to have though with a surging Winside, Wynot, Allen, and Randolph to end the regular season.
This is a contest I feel Emerson-Hubbard needs to win to avoid finishing the regular season below .500.
That's not to say the Pirates can't beat the likes of Wynot and Randolph, but it won't be easy with both those teams on the road.
Emerson-Hubbard has to come out and play much better football than they did against Humphrey St. Francis.
A lot of teams falter to the Flyers, but how the Pirates bounce back will be key, in my opinion.
Emerson-Hubbard has to be positive and upbeat, and has to be over the Humphrey St. Francis loss.
I'm not thinking the loss to the Flyers really stung or is that devastating, but it's still a loss, and the Pirates have to be upset about losing.
Emerson-Hubbard can't accept losing and failure...the Pirates need to have the drive and determination to be successful and win.
Emerson-Hubbard has to be physically and mentally tough come Friday night.
The Pirates need to come ready to play, and must get off to a fast start and play four complete quarters of football.
Emerson-Hubbard has to get back to playing the type of defense they did against Scribner-Snyder.
The Pirates also need to get their offense on track, and break out.
Emerson-Hubbard really just has to be lights out on both sides of the ball to pick up a win.
If the Pirates play the way they did against the Trojans then they can definitely win. But if it's like last week or the opener against Hartington-Newcastle then Wausa very well might get Emerson-Hubbard and hand the Pirates their third loss of the season.
