Brock Ray made 9.5 tackles while Ben Rolenc totaled 7.5.

Head Coach Ryan Stieren tips his hat to the Cadets, but not without crediting his own kids. "First of all, West Point-Beemer has a solid team this year and they are well-coached, Coach Schlueter and his staff does a nice job with them. It was a crazy game and we had our opportunities but they were the better team tonight. Early on, we had 4th and goal from the 17 yard line, we completed a pass but got stopped on the 1 yard line and then their next drive went 99 yards for a touchdown. We were definitely fortunate because, later in the game, we returned a fumble and kick return for a TD and that kept us in the game. Late in the 4th quarter we were down 8 points, we had the ball inside the 10 yard line but could not convert and they ended up scoring to put the game away. I am proud of my kids, they definitely fought hard and although they controlled the game, we had a chance."
North Bend Central (0-2) hosts Tekamah-Herman (1-1) Friday night in High School Football on 107.9 the Bull.
Tekamah-Herman lost 64-21 at home to Ponca Friday night.
Tekamah-Herman won their opener over Madison 18-14.
Stieren says that after scouting Tekamah-Herman, he believes the opponent uses enough players to always have fresh bodies on the field.
"I think it's a good matchup for us. One thing I'll say is they play hard. I think they have a pretty good number of kids out, and they'll play probably 15 or 16 kids on offense and defense. So that's good for them because they can be fresh," Stieren said. "From that perspective, those are some things that could give some trouble. But I think it is a good matchup for us."
I don't know if North Bend Central is as strong this year as they were last year, and I think Tekamah-Herman might be better this year than they were last year.
Regardless, it should be a good game between two teams looking to earn a much needed win.
I think North Bend Central needs this one more than Tekamah-Herman so NBC needs to come out and play with lots of pride and a sense of purpose Friday night.
North Bend Central is back at home, and after competing real hard and well the first two weeks of the season, is due for a win.
Endorf needs to have a marvelous game passing the ball, and Wardman and Emanuel have to continue to be factors in the passing game.
The biggest thing though is North Bend Central has to get their running game on track.
NBC can't expect to be successful if they can't run the ball and are one dimensional.
A good passing game is great to have, and will get you places, but so far the Tigers' prolific passing game hasn't been enough to yield them a win.
Balance is the key to a successful offense, in my opinion, and that's something North Bend Central has to find Friday night.
The defense also has to step up and be better at stopping the run. Giving up 485 yards on the ground is almost always going to lose you a game, and so North Bend Central has to clog up Tekamah-Herman's running lanes and be the more physical team at the line of scrimmage.
North Bend Central has been so close to getting over the hump...they just haven't been able to get the job done the first two weeks.
With that said, I look for NBC to find a way to win this one Friday night. I think North Bend Central will be too much for Tekamah-Herman, especially with the game being in North Bend.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. with pregame at 6:40 on 107.9 the Bull.
