Scribner-Snyder shutout at home by Emerson-Hubbard
The Scribner-Snyder Football Team lost 39-0 at home to Emerson-Hubbard Friday night.
The Pirates blanked the Trojans 14-0 in the first quarter, and 12-0 in the second quarter to take a 26-0 lead into the locker room.
Emerson-Hubbard shutout Scribner-Snyder 13-0 in the third quarter to make up the final score as no one scored in the 4th quarter.
Sebastian Arnold carried the ball 19 times for 58 yards to lead the Trojans.
Hunter Adams racked up a team-high 15 tackles while Josh McMillen and Austin Peters made 13 apiece.
Scribner-Snyder had 106 yards of total offense, all on the ground.
Tough game and night for the Trojans. Scribner-Snyder just couldn't find their groove offensively or defensively.
The Trojans (0-3) host Winside (1-1) Friday night.
The Wildcats forfeited against Fullerton two weeks ago so hopefully Scribner-Snyder gets to play this game.
Either way I look for this game to be the Trojans' first win of the season.
I think Scribner-Snyder is due to breakout and have a good game.
I don't think the Trojans have played to their potential yet, but I think that is about to change.
Scribner-Snyder just has to remain positive and keep working hard and grinding.
Winning and success doesn't come overnight...it's earned. So you can bet the Trojans will bring the lunch pail Friday night.
Scribner-Snyder has to run the ball behind their big offensive line and pound out yardage.
The Trojans have to put things all together in this game, and turn in their best performance of the season.
I'm sure it's tough with low numbers, but Scribner-Snyder has to find a way to overcome not having a lot of kids out for football this year, and win this game.
At the end of the day anything one says as to why they lost is an excuse.
The Trojans have to find a way to win Friday night, and get back on the winning side of things.
I realize only 8 or 9 kids do a lot of the playing, but those 8 or 9 kids have to lead this team and be the best conditioned players on the field.
I must admit I was surprised the Emerson-Hubbard game wasn't closer. Maybe Scribner-Snyder is battling some injuries, I don't know.
Regardless, the Trojans just have to put all their past struggles aside and turn in an outstanding performance this week.
There's no doubt in my mind that this Friday is going to be Scribner-Snyder's first win of the season.
These kids are working hard I'm sure, and are very deserving of a win there's no doubt about it.
Everything starts over with Winside Friday night. I feel this game will set the tone for the rest of the season for the Trojans.
