Tekamah-Herman competes well against, but loses to Logan View

The Tekamah-Herman Football team played better, but lost 42-20 at home to Logan View Friday night.

Matt Hawkins was 3-14 passing for 137 yards and two touchdowns while Cole Freidel rushed for 106 yards on 13 attempts, and scored once.

The Tigers racked up 320 yards of offense, including 173 rushing.

I thought Tekamah-Herman played well in this game despite the outcome. It looks like trying some new players worked out well for the Tigers. I think Tekamah-Herman has to be encouraged by the way they played offensively.

The Tigers (1-4) travel to BRLD (1-4) to take on the Wolverines Friday night.

BRLD lost 28-20 at Oakland-Craig this past Friday night.

The Wolverines' lone win is by forfeit over Omaha Brownell-Talbot.

I'm sure Tekamah-Herman doesn't want to be BRLD's first real win of the year, and the Tigers have to come out and do everything they can to pick up win number 2 on the season.

I think Tekamah-Herman has figured things out on offense, now it's a matter of finding a successful formula on defense.

I'd say slowing down Will Gatzemeyer and the Wolverines' run game will be critical for the Tigers.

This is a winnable game for Tekamah-Herman, but the Tigers have to play better defense than what they played against the Raiders.

Tekamah-Herman has to match BRLD's physicality, and must tackle well in space.

The Tigers have to limit the big play, and force the Wolverines to drive the length of the field.

Tekamah-Herman also has to sustain drives on offense, and use clock.

The more time the Tigers' offense spends on the field, the better off Tekamah-Herman will be.

The Tigers have to come into this game with a lot of confidence, and must feel they have a shot to win, because they definitely do.

I would feel more confident in Tekamah-Herman if they were at home, but there's no better feeling than going into someone's house and coming away with a win.

I'm sure it would be an ultra sweet feeling for the Tigers to go into Lyons or wherever the game is being played, and come away with the win.

Tekamah-Herman has to come into this game optimistic and fired up, and must believe they can win, because certainly anything can happen.

The Tigers have to play with mental and physical toughness, tenacity, grit, fire, passion, anger, and aggressiveness.

Tekamah-Herman has to come in with the attitude that they are going to win, and must expect to win as opposed to just hoping to win.

In other words, the Tigers can't play not to lose.
