Emerson-Hubbard wins at Wausa

The Emerson-Hubbard Pirates evened up their record at 2-2, downing Wausa 55-36 on the road Friday night.

The Vikings led 6-0 at the end of one and won the second quarter 16-6 to take a 22-6 lead into the locker room.

The Pirates exploded in the third quarter, shutting out Wausa 30-0 to go up 36-22 at the end of three.

Emerson-Hubbard outscored the Vikings 19-14 in the fourth quarter.

Something must of been said in the locker room at halftime because the Pirates were a whole different team in the third quarter.

Emerson-Hubbard will move to 3-2 on the season as Winside is forfeiting Friday night's game.

It has to be frustrating for the Pirates not to get to play the game, but now Emerson-Hubbard has an extra week to prepare for Wynot, which is a good thing in a way.

I will preview the Wynot game in my next post.
