GACC rolls Plainview

The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays rolled to a big win over Plainview on the road Friday night, winning 58-14.

GACC led 14-6 at the end of one, and outscored the Pirates 20-8 in the second quarter to lead 34-14 at halftime.

The Bluejays shutout Plainview 16-0 in the third quarter to go up 50-14 at the end of three.

GACC won the fourth quarter 8-0.

Jared Minnick had 209 yards rushing on 28 carries, and scored twice. Nolan Plagge added 79 yards rushing on 11 carries, and scored once.

Plagge was 7-10 passing with 117 yards and two touchdowns.

Cole Kreikemeier hauled in 5 passes for 103 yards, and hit pay dirt once.

Connor Klitz had 9 tackles.

The Bluejays racked up 492 yards of total offense, including 375 on the ground.

The defense gave up 139 yards of total offense, including 79 rushing.

I thought GACC played an exceptional game Friday night.

The Bluejays played a complete, four quarter game, something good teams usually do.

GACC (3-0) hosts Nebraska City Lourdes (2-1) Friday night.

The Knights downed East Butler 12-8 at home last time out.

Nebraska City Lourdes is good, but I think the Bluejays are better.

The fact the game is in Beemer figures to make things tough for the Knights.

I feel GACC is better than expected this year, and winning this game would go a long ways in solidifying a perfect regular season for the Bluejays.

This game and the one against Pender to end the regular season are the only real tests left for GACC.

If the Bluejays can get past the Knights it should be smooth sailing until the Pender game for GACC.

I could see Friday night's game being close for a while, but I see the Bluejays being too much for Nebraska City Lourdes, and pulling away at the end.

GACC may not be as dynamic and talented as they were last year, but the Bluejays are still a really good team.

Tradition hasn't graduated so far at Guardian Angels Central Catholic, and it appears the Bluejays are primed and ready to have another undefeated regular season.

This is a big game for GACC, and the Bluejays need to play well to help prepare themselves for the type of teams they're going to see in the playoffs.

This game is bigger than just this game itself.

Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. with pregame at 5:40 on 107.9 the Bull.
