Tekamah-Herman loses at home to North Bend Central

The Tekamah-Herman Tigers fell 35-13 at home to North Bend Central Friday night.

North Bend Central led 7-0 at the end of one and outscored Tekamah-Herman 21-0 in the second quarter to take a 28-0 lead into the locker room.

Neither team scored in the third quarter. Tekamah-Herman won the fourth quarter 13-7.

Cody Hopkins was 8-23 passing for 123 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Drew Schmidt hauled in 6 passes for 92 yards, and scored once.

Hopkins added 74 yards rushing on 14 carries.

Gage Drummond made 10 tackles while Ben Metzler totaled 7.

Tekamah-Herman totaled 297 yards of offense, including 174 on the ground.

North Bend Central had 321 yards of total offense, including 164 through the air.

Tekamah-Herman just really struggled in the first half. They played better in the second half, but it was too little too late at that point.

Tekamah-Herman (1-2) hosts Doniphan-Trumbull (1-2) Friday night.

The Cardinals lost 28-14 at home to Hershey last time out.

Doniphan-Trumbull may be 1-2, but they've played tough teams. Hershey is undefeated as is Sutton. And North Platte St. Pats, who the Cardinals beat, are 2-1.

The Tigers will definitely have their hands full against Doniphan-Trumbull.

Tekamah-Herman is definitely capable of winning though, in my opinion.

It's a long road trip for the Cardinals into unfamiliar territory, and I'm interested to see what sort of impact that has on the game, if any.

I think the Tigers have a chance to be competitive and win.

If Tekamah-Herman can get back to playing the type of football they did against Omaha Brownell-Talbot, then they should be in good shape.

The Tigers have just really struggled the last two weeks for whatever reason, but I look for Tekamah-Herman to come out inspired and ready to play Friday night.

I think Tekamah-Herman will play a lot better than they did against North Bend Central and Ponca.

The Tigers may come up short, but that's okay as long as Tekamah-Herman is competitive.

Beating Doniphan-Trumbull is no easy task, and so the Tigers have to be ready to go for four quarters.

Tekamah-Herman can't afford to play the way they did in the first half against North Bend Central.

Tekamah-Herman has to play the way they did in the second half of that game the whole game against the Cardinals.
