Scribner-Snyder loses at home to Bloomfield
The Scribner-Snyder Trojans lost 62-20 at home to Bloomfield Friday night.
The Bees led 28-6 at the end of the first quarter, and outscored the Trojans 28-8 in the second quarter to lead 56-14 at halftime.
After neither team scored in the third quarter, both teams scored 6 points in the fourth.
Sebastian Arnold had 113 yards rushing on 9 carries, scoring two touchdowns, while Jadyn Smeal rushed for 67 yards on 12 carries, and scored once.
Brandon Noel had 9 tackles while Austin Peters made 8.
Scribner-Snyder amassed 215 yards of total offense, all on the ground, while giving up 370 yards, including 336 rushing.
One would think the game would of been closer based on yardage, but it didn't end up that way.
The Trojans (0-2) take on Emerson-Hubbard (0-1) on the road Friday night.
The Pirates lost 54-18 at Hartington-Newcastle last time out.
I think Scribner-Snyder has a chance to be the most competitive they've been in any game this season.
The Trojans made progress from Week 0 to Week 1, in my opinion, and I look for Scribner-Snyder to turn in an even better performance against Emerson-Hubbard.
I don't know if the Trojans will win, but I think their offense has a chance to improve upon the 20 points they put up against Bloomfield.
The biggest thing for Scribner-Snyder will be slowing down the Pirates, in my opinion.
The Trojans' defense needs to be physical at the line of scrimmage, tackle well, create turnovers, and keep everything in front of them.
There's definitely a lot of room for growth and improvement on the defensive side of the ball so it will be interesting to see if Scribner-Snyder's defense does better this week than they did the first two weeks of the season.
It hasn't been the easiest season so far for the Trojans, but the most important thing for Scribner-Snyder is to continue to fight and play hard.
The Trojans have to control what they can control, which is their effort.
Scribner-Snyder has to be mentally and physically tough, and believe in themselves.
Winning isn't easy, especially on the road, but the Trojans have to keep battling and do their best to overcome the adversity that has struck them in this early part of the season.
