Scribner-Snyder falls at Emerson-Hubbard

The Scribner-Snyder Trojans remain winless on the year as they lost 42-20 at Emerson-Hubbard Friday night.

The Pirates led 14-0 at the end of one, and after neither team scored in the second quarter, took a 14-0 lead into the locker room.

The Trojans outscored Emerson-Hubbard 20-12 in the third quarter to make it a 26-20 game at the end of three.

The Pirates won the fourth quarter 16-0.

Jadyn Smeal rushed for 164 yards on 14 carries, and scored three times. Brandon Noel added 63 yards on 14 carries.

Noel racked up 14 tackles while Riley Meyer made 13. Alex Nuno totaled 11 while Marcus Love had 7.

Scribner-Snyder racked up 362 yards of offense, including 342 on the ground.

I think the Trojans are growing and improving every week. Scribner-Snyder was within a single possession heading into the fourth quarter, and could have easily won the game. It's now a matter of finishing if you are the Trojans.

Scribner-Snyder (0-3) is at Winside (1-1) Friday night.

The Wildcats lost 52-20 at home to Fullerton last time out.

Winside appears to be a little bit better than usual, but I look for the Trojans to pick up their first win of the season.

I think Scribner-Snyder is due for a win, and beating the Wildcats would be a good way for the Trojans to kickstart their season.

It has taken the Trojans a while to get things figured out, and perhaps they are still trying to get things figured out, but I look for Scribner-Snyder to turn the corner Friday night.

It's simply a matter of the Trojans putting things together and playing a four quarter game, and I believe Scribner-Snyder will do these things Friday night.

I look for Smeal to have another big game running the ball. If he can have another performance like he did against Emerson-Hubbard, the Trojans are going to be tough to beat come Friday night.

Scribner-Snyder has to play with confidence Friday night. The Trojans have to believe in themselves and their abilities, and rally around each other.

This team is getting better every week, and a win over Winside would be good momentum heading into the rest of the schedule.

This is Scribner-Snyder's best chance at a win, and it's time for the Trojans to get the job done.
