Guardian Angels Central Catholic wins big at Clarkson/Leigh

The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays had a breakout performance at Clarkson/Leigh Friday night, winning 64-20.

GACC led 30-14 at the end of one. The Bluejays shutout the Patriots 20-0 in the second quarter to lead 50-14 at halftime.

GACC outscored Clarkson/Leigh 14-6 in the third quarter to make up the final score. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter.

The Bluejays gave up 269 yards rushing.

This was a great performance from GACC. The Bluejays really slowed down Bradley Bunner, and I thought that was the biggest difference in the game.

GACC also got their offense going in a big way so that was a really good sign.

The Bluejays (2-0) are at Plainview (1-1) on Friday.

The Pirates defeated Winnebago 52-40 on the road last time out.

Despite the win for Plainview, GACC should roll in this game.

The Bluejays played an outstanding game against the Patriots, and as long as GACC doesn't have a letdown, they should pick up another big win over Plainview.

The Bluejays have a big game against Nebraska City Lourdes next week so the last thing GACC can afford is to look past the Pirates.

I don't see GACC overlooking Plainview though. I think the Bluejays will be focused and ready to dominate.

I look for the clock to be running in the second half of this game as well. GACC played a really good game Friday night, and I look for this week's game to be just as good if not better.

I thought it might take some time for the Bluejays to figure things out this season, but GACC appears to already be in midseason form.

The Bluejays flexed their muscles Friday night, and I look for GACC to dominate once again this coming Friday.

The Bluejays are playing at a really high level right now, and I think GACC will only continue to get better.
