BRLD tops Tekamah-Herman
The Bancroft-Rosalie-Lyons-Decatur Wolverines continued their good play, knocking off Tekamah-Herman 46-20 on the road Friday night.
BRLD led 20-0 at the end of one and blanked the Tigers 12-0 in the second quarter to take a 32-0 lead into the locker room.
The Wolverines put up 7 third quarter points and held Tekamah-Herman scoreless to lead 39-0 after three.
The Tigers won the fourth quarter 20-7.
Montana Riecken had 190 yards rushing on 11 carries, including two scores. Jacob Zuhlke had 129 yards rushing on 20 carries, including a score.
Riecken was 5-14 passing for 100 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
BRLD totaled 436 yards of offense, including 336 on the ground.
I thought the Wolverines played a great game Friday night. It appears BRLD has figured out what it takes to win at the C-2 level, and has learned how to be physical.
The Wolverines (2-4) host Wisner-Pilger (0-6) Friday night.
The Gators lost 46-6 at home to Oakland-Craig last time out.
Wisner-Pilger has had a difficult season as they've dealt with a number of injuries and other things, but you can bet the Gators will still come to play.
BRLD has to be on top of their game and continue to get better.
The Wolverines shouldn't have much trouble taking care of the Gators, but BRLD needs to win big to prepare for challenging contests with Fremont Bergan and Logan View to end the regular season.
It appears the Wolverines have gotten better just about every week, and I look for BRLD to be even better this week than they have all season.
I think you will see the Wolverines play one of their better games of the season Friday night.
BRLD has to remain physical at the line of scrimmage, and run the ball against Wisner-Pilger the same way they ran it against Tekamah-Herman.
The Wolverines are a good team, and I think they will really challenge the Gators, and force Wisner-Pilger to play a really good game in order to compete.
I wouldn't be surprised if this game was near the 35-point running clock rule at some point.
I don't know if it will get quite that lopsided, but BRLD should win this game pretty big.
The Wolverines can't take the Gators lightly though. BRLD has to play with the same effort and intensity for four quarters, and play a complete game.
The Wolverines must score early and often to put Wisner-Pilger away, and give them zero hope of winning.
The last thing BRLD wants is the Gators hanging around and believing they can win the game.
The Wolverines don't want to give Wisner-Pilger life and get them thinking they are going to win.
BRLD would just assume put the game away in the first half like they did against Tekamah-Herman.
I really think the Wolverines have a shot to win their last three games, they just have to take things one week at a time.
