Wisner-Pilger falls at home to Oakland-Craig

Wisner-Pilger fell 46-6 at home to Oakland-Craig Friday night in a game aired on 107.9 the Bull.

Cobe Porter finished with 129 yards rushing on 9 carries, including a 60-yard TD run for the Gators (0-6).

Wisner-Pilger gave up 428 yards of offense, including 290 on the ground.

This was another tough game for the Gators. Wisner-Pilger tried their best, but it just wasn't enough.

Head Coach Brent Bauer says despite the score he was proud of how his kids played, especially with all their injuries. "This game was kind of a microcosm of our week. We had the three best practices of our season Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Had a bad Thursday. And it's kind of like the game. We had great drives, we got inside the 25-yard line, just didn't finish. And that's the way it went. And against Oakland-Craig you got to finish those drives."

Bauer says his team has been plagued by injuries. "Oh we're putting kids on the field that are giving this program all they've got. This is the most incredible season for injuries and just weird things that I've ever been a part of. I made the comment this summer to some friends of mine back home I said we've never had injury issues at Wisner-Pilger in the 9 years that I've been here."

Wisner-Pilger is at BRLD (2-4) Friday night.

The Wolverines topped Tekamah-Herman 46-20 on the road this past Friday night.

I know it has been a very difficult season for the Gators, but Wisner-Pilger has to come out and play hard and show some pride Friday night.

At this point it's all about playing for pride if you are the Gators, and Wisner-Pilger has to play their hearts out Friday night.

The Gators have to put the first six losses behind them, and prepare themselves for this Friday's game.

It has been such a tough season for Wisner-Pilger with injuries and losses mounting that it becomes difficult to remain positive.

The Gators have to remain tough though, and finish out the season as strong as possible.

Wisner-Pilger has their work cut out for them this week like they have for a lot of the season, but success doesn't ever come easy.

The Gators have to be really good at being physical and stopping the run Friday night.

BRLD likes to pound the ball, and ran for 336 yards against Tekamah-Herman.

The Wolverines have definitely proved to be a worthy C-2 foe so BRLD has to have Wisner-Pilger's respect and attention.

The biggest thing for the Gators is going out there and competing at a high level.

If Wisner-Pilger can make things close Friday night, even if it's not a win, that would be a moral victory for the Gators.

Wisner-Pilger needs something to feel good about and build off of heading into their final two regular season contests.

I think the Gators' chances of winning improve every week from here on out.

I feel the competition dips a little each week until the end of the season.

That's why it's important for Wisner-Pilger to keep getting better and play well.
