Tekamah-Herman loses to BRLD

The Tekamah-Herman Tigers fell 46-20 at home to BRLD Friday night.

BRLD led 20-0 at the end of one and blanked the Tigers 12-0 in the second quarter to take a 32-0 lead into the locker room.

The Wolverines put up 7 third quarter points and held Tekamah-Herman scoreless to lead 39-0 after three.

The Tigers won the fourth quarter 20-7.

The defense gave up 436 yards of total offense, 336 coming on the ground.

Tekamah-Herman (1-5) is at Fremont Bergan (3-3) Friday night.

The Knights won 21-14 in overtime at Logan View last time out.

It has been somewhat of a down year for Bergan, although they appear to be getting a little bit better as the season progresses.

Still though, the Tigers have to think they have a shot at competing with the Knights.

Tekamah-Herman hung in there with Logan View for a while, and if the Tigers can figure out how to play a complete, four quarter game, like they did against Omaha Brownell-Talbot, anything is possible.

Tekamah-Herman can't afford to be trailing 32-0 at halftime again though.

The Tigers have to get off to a fast start, and finish strong like they did against the Wolverines.

The fact Tekamah-Herman scored 20 fourth quarter points against BRLD shows they're never going to give up.

I truly believe this team will battle and fight until the very end no matter what.

The Tigers may not beat Bergan as the Knights will be fighting for their playoff lives, but Tekamah-Herman can't back down from Bergan at all.

The Tigers have to go out there and play hard, play smashmouth football, and leave it all out on the field.

Tekamah-Herman has to give it their all, and do their very best to win.

The Tigers may not win, but if Tekamah-Herman can at least be competitive, that might go a long ways in helping them be competitive against Oakland-Craig and allow them to beat Wisner-Pilger in the regular season finale.

I look for the strong finish of Friday's game to carry over into this week. I think you will see the Tigers compete a lot better against the Knights than they did against BRLD.

The biggest thing for Tekamah-Herman is believing they can win. The Tigers can't go into the game hoping to win or expecting to lose, because then it won't happen.
