Tekamah-Herman shutout by Oakland-Craig
The Tekamah-Herman Tigers lost 48-0 at home to Oakland-Craig Friday night.
The Knights led 28-0 after the first quarter and blanked the Tigers 20-0 in the second quarter to lead 48-0 at the break.
Neither team scored in the second half.
The defense gave up 429 yards of total offense, including 245 through the air.
It was a really difficult game for Tekamah-Herman. One I'm sure the Tigers felt they should have and would have liked to done better in.
Tekamah-Herman (1-7) travels to Wisner Friday night to battle Wisner-Pilger (0-8).
The Gators lost 33-20 at Logan View this past Friday night.
Wisner-Pilger has had trouble stopping the run all season long so the Tigers should look to pound the rock on the Gators.
Tekamah-Herman's defense has had their own issues too though so this should make for an evenly matched game between two teams really needing a win.
Wisner-Pilger might need this one more than Tekamah-Herman, but the Tigers still have to want this one badly.
It's the final time these players will suit up this season, and for the seniors, it's the final game they will ever play for Tekamah-Herman High School.
The Tigers have to take some pride in that, and show up and play a good game Friday night.
Both teams have to throw everything they've got at one another, and tough, grit, and gut it out the best they can.
With the exception of the Omaha Brownell-Talbot game, it has been a season of frustration for Tekamah-Herman. The same thing could be said for Wisner-Pilger.
That's why I look for both the Tigers and Gators to give it everything they've got, and not hold anything back.
This should be a good battle between Tekamah-Herman and Wisner-Pilger.
I'm sure the Tigers would like to get this one after losing 31-6 to the Gators last year.
I would say Tekamah-Herman is better than they were last year, and Wisner-Pilger isn't as strong as they were last year, so that should make for a pretty even game between the two squads Friday night.
