GACC wins big at Omaha Nation
The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays won 50-6 at Omaha Nation last Friday night.
Nolan Plagge had 91 yards rushing on 6 carries, and scored three touchdowns.
Plagge was 3-3 passing with 67 yards and two touchdowns.
GACC totaled 191 yards of offense, including 124 on the ground.
The Bluejays didn't have the biggest offensive output, but it was good enough to win. GACC appears to have played really good defense.
The Bluejays (5-0) host Homer (0-5) Friday night.
The Knights fell 50-42 at Omaha Nation last time out.
This should be another easy win for GACC.
The Bluejays should dominate like they usually do, and roll Homer.
GACC has to continue to play well defensively though, and needs to kick their offense into high gear as well.
It's important for the Bluejays to keep playing well and improving with it looking like it will come down to GACC and Pender for the district championship the last week of the regular season.
The Bluejays have to roll in their next two games and build as much momentum and confidence as possible heading into that matchup with the Pendragons.
An undefeated regular season is a very realistic thing right now for GACC, but the Bluejays have to continue to take things one game at a time.
GACC can't be looking ahead to the Winnebago or Pender games, and has to be focused on taking care of Homer, but as long as the Bluejays are ready to play they should be fine.
There's really not a whole lot to say about GACC at this point other than that they should continue to win and take care of business.
I guess I would add that the Bluejays need to win these next two games big to rest starters and gain experience for the future.
A playoff run to the quarterfinals or beyond is very possible for this team once again, but GACC needs to take care of business against the weak teams, and step up and play well in their biggest games of the season, something they have sort of done so far this season.
The Bluejays should be well rested and ready to go for the game with the Knights Friday night so I don't see winning big and resting starters being an issue for GACC in this game.
The Bluejays need to remain fresh and well rested for the Pender game, and a big playoff run.
Without playing a tough schedule, I think those are two things GACC can do to gain an edge and prepare themselves for what lies ahead.
