Wisner-Pilger falls at BRLD
The Wisner-Pilger Gators had another tough go of things Friday night, falling 56-16 at BRLD.
Cooper Vonseggern was 9-19 passing for 199 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Wisner-Pilger.
Hunter Waterman hauled in 2 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.
Ryan McBride made 15 tackles while Cobe Porter and Vonseggern had 14 and 13, respectively. Colby Heller, Brody Mattson, and Kaden Henry notched 9 apiece while Nathan Hatterman and Keegann Ruskamp totaled 7 each.
Wisner-Pilger amassed 213 yards of total offense, including 199 through the air. The defense gave up 585 yards of offense, 405 coming on the ground.
The Gators gave it their best shot Friday night, but came up short. Vonseggern did all he could for Wisner-Pilger, but his solid passing night wasn't enough to lead the Gators to victory.
Wisner-Pilger (0-7) is at Logan View (2-5) Friday night.
The Raiders lost 28-6 at Oakland-Craig this past Friday night.
I feel like Logan View is a better team than their record indicates, and is a team destined for good things in the future.
The Raiders are in a transition year and are probably still trying to get used to all the changes that have been thrown their way.
That has to make the Gators feel they've got a chance in this one.
The playoffs are out the window for Wisner-Pilger now so it's all about playing for pride from here on out.
The Gators have to come out and put up a good fight Friday night.
Wisner-Pilger has to get off to a fast start, and must slow down Logan View's run game.
Brady Hull has had a nice season running the ball for the Raiders, and I look for him to be tough for the Gators.
The Knights only gave up 54 yards rushing to Logan View so Wisner-Pilger is certainly capable of shutting down the run as well.
The Gators have to be a good job of being physical though. Wisner-Pilger can't get outworked at the line of scrimmage if they hope to win the battle of the run game.
Vonseggern also has to have a nice game throwing the ball for the Gators. He has to continue to shoulder a lot of the load, and do everything he can to lead this team to victory.
Wisner-Pilger is definitely capable of winning this game, but the Gators need to be much more efficient on offense, and must be a lot better defensively than they were against the Wolverines.
