BRLD picks up 2nd win of season over Ponca

 

The BRLD Football Team beat Ponca 32-19 on the road Friday night.

The Wolverines led 12-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Indians won the 2nd quarter 13-8 to make it a 20-13 game at halftime.

BRLD won the 3rd quarter 6-0 to go up 26-13 at the end of three.

Both teams scored 6 points in the 4th quarter.

Good win for the Wolverines.

BRLD (2-3) plays host to Norfolk Catholic (3-2) Friday night.

The Knights upset Wayne 31-21 at home last week.

Norfolk Catholic beat Ponca 38-20 at home the week before.

I think this game has a chance to be pretty close.

The Wolverines played well against Ponca, and the margin of victory was pretty close to how much Norfolk Catholic beat the Indians by.

You just have to wonder what will happen given what the Knights did to the Blue Devils last week though.

That was a legit win for Norfolk Catholic beating Wayne and everything.

Norfolk Catholic is Norfolk Catholic, and nothing is a fluke with them.

BRLD is coming off a State Semifinal season last year though and appears to be getting on track themselves.

I think this game will be pretty competitive.

I don't think either team missing games cause of COVID-19 had much of an impact on them.

I look for two hard-nosed, physical football teams to really get after one another Friday night, and make things very interesting and competitive. 

These two should slug things out in what should be a slugfest.
