Pender loses to Allen

The Pender Football Team lost 44-28 at home to Allen Friday night.

The Pendragons led 7-6 after one before the Eagles blanked Pender 8-0 in the 2nd quarter to take a 14-7 lead into the locker room.

The Pendragons won the 3rd quarter 7-6 to make it a 20-14 game at the end of three.

Allen outscored Pender 24-14 in the 4th quarter.

Braxton Volk was 18-31 passing for 219 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Caleb Trimble hauled in 8 passes for 69 yards, and scored once, while Quinton Heineman had 3 catches for 62 yards. Chase Hofmeister made 2 catches for 58 yards.

Dylan Vogt made 11 tackles while Jacob Bruns and Trimble made 10 and 7, respectively.

The Pendragons had 256 yards of total offense, including 219 through the air.

The defense gave up 306 yards of total offense, including 261 rushing.

A tough loss to a really good team for Pender.

The Pendragons (2-3) battle Walthill (1-4) on the road Friday.

The Blujays lost 73-30 at Homer last week.

Pender should win out their remaining regular season games.

The Pendragons have to come out and take their frustrations of losing to Bloomfield and Allen out on Walthill.

Pender should not only win, but win big.

The Pendragons have to come out and score early and often, and dominate from start to finish.

Pender also has to turn in a great defensive performance as well.

It has to be a complete game performance from start to finish for the Pendragons.

Pender has to regroup and "start over" so to speak.

Meaning the Pendragons have to put the past five games behind them and focus on what's left of the season.

A few big wins to conclude the regular season would help Pender heading into the playoffs if they make it.
