GACC loses regular season finale to Stanton

The GACC Football Team lost 60-22 at Stanton Friday night in the regular season finale.

The Mustangs led 24-0 at the end of the 1st quarter, and 46-0 at halftime.

The Bluejays outscored Stanton 14-8 in the 3rd quarter to make it a 54-14 game at the end of three.

GACC won the 4th quarter 8-6.

Cash Meier made 11 tackles while Cole Hutchinson and Bryan Ortmeier made 7 apiece.

The Bluejays had 119 yards of total offense, including 88 rushing.

The defense gave up 369 yards of total offense, including 346 on the ground.

GACC had a rough go of things against Stanton.

The Bluejays (4-4) host Howells-Dodge (6-2) in the first round of the playoffs Thursday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Jaguars shutout Clarkson/Leigh 44-0 at home Friday night in action that was also aired on the Bull.

GACC has struggled their last two games, in particular their last 6 quarters of Football.

The Bluejays have to bounce back in a big way Thursday night, and play well.

GACC has kept things close with some of the big boys on their schedule.

Now the Bluejays just have to find a way to get over the hump against great competition.

Howells-Dodge is a very good and nice young Football team that beat GACC pretty good two weeks ago.

The Bluejays have to step up their game and rise to the occasion if they are to knock off the Jaguars in this one.

I could see Howells-Dodge winning a close game, but GACC is at home in the playoffs and can never be counted out.

It should be a good game that goes down to the wire.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. in Beemer with pregame coverage starting at 6:30 on the Bull.
