The Wisner-Pilger Football Team played their first game of the season since September 18th Friday night, falling 22-20 at Clarkson/Leigh.
The game was tied at 6 at the end of the 1st quarter and 14 at halftime. Clarkson/Leigh won the 3rd quarter 8-6 to go up 22-20 at the end of three to make up the final score as both teams were held scoreless in the 4th quarter.
The Gators gave up 280 yards of total offense, including 155 on the ground.
Another tough, close loss to a quality opponent for the Gators.
Wisner-Pilger (0-5) plays host to Madison (0-7) Friday night.
The Dragons lost 60-7 at home to Stanton last week.
This should be a victory for the Gators.
It doesn't appear there will be any playoffs for Wisner-Pilger this year, but the Gators should send their seniors out winners in this one.
This is the final game and home game these Seniors will ever play.
It has been a difficult and unfortunate season for Wisner-Pilger with the Pandemic and losing some close games and everything.
The Gators have to take their frustrations out on the Dragons and win big on Friday.
Wisner-Pilger has to come out and play hard and with great effort.
This is one of those games where the Gators have to get out to a big lead so everyone can play.
It's about getting all these hard working seniors playing time in this one, and getting the younger kids in there as well in order to prepare for next year.
Wisner-Pilger has to come out and play great Football on Friday, and take it to Madison for four quarters.
