Emerson-Hubbard falls at Winside

The Emerson-Hubbard Football Team lost 58-26 at Winside Friday night.

The Wildcats led 20-6 at the end of one, and outscored the Pirates 30-14 in the 2nd quarter to take a 50-20 lead into the locker room.

Winside shutout Emerson-Hubbard 8-0 in the 3rd quarter to go up 58-20 at the end of three.

The Pirates blanked the Wildcats 6-0 in the 4th quarter.

Brock Mackling had 17 carries for 58 yards.

Emerson-Hubbard had 119 yards of total offense, including 97 rushing.

The defense surrendered 343 yards of total offense, 283 coming on the ground.

The Pirates (1-4) host Homer (1-4) Friday night.

The Knights won 73-30 at home over Walthill last week.

The Blujays beat Emerson-Hubbard 50-32.

So the Pirates definitely have a tough battle on their hands.

Emerson-Hubbard has to go out there and play and fight hard though.

The Pirates can't think they're doomed coming into this game just because of those two scores.

Emerson-Hubbard has to rise up and get ready for a four quarter battle Friday night.

The Pirates have to come out and smack Homer in the mouth early and often.

Emerson-Hubbard has to set the tone for the game with physical play up front.

The Pirates have to hit hard, and must go all out.

I think it's very important for Emerson-Hubbard to stop the run as well.

Each of the last three regular season games get tougher and trickier for Emerson-Hubbard, so the Pirates have to step up their game even more than before.
