Stanton routs Madison

The Stanton Football Team routed Madison 60-7 on the road Friday.

The Mustangs led 34-0 at the end of the 1st quarter, and shutout the Dragons 20-0 in the 2nd quarter to go up 54-0 at halftime.

Madison scored their lone points of the game in the 3rd quarter to make it 54-7 at the end of three.

Stanton shutout the Dragons 6-0 in the 4th quarter.

Sutton Pohlman had 147 yards rushing on 13 carries, scoring three times. Gage Tighe ran the ball 3 times for 109 yards, scoring two touchdowns. Jason Claussen had 6 carries for 74 yards, and scored once.

Damien Erickson had 7 tackles.

Stanton rolled up 443 yards of total offense, all on the ground.

Dominating win for the Mustangs.

Stanton (5-1) hosts GACC (4-3) in the regular season finale Friday night.

The Bluejays fell 36-16 at home to Howells-Dodge last week.

Stanton can win the District Title outright with a win.

This is the Mustangs' chance to be District Champs and bolster their playoff seed even further.

Stanton is looking at a 4 seed in the playoffs right now, but a win would perhaps bump them to a 3 or even a 2.

The Mustangs have to come out and play well and wrap up the District Friday night.

Stanton has to finish what they started, and head into the playoffs with a lot of momentum.

The Mustangs are having a really nice season, and have been on fire lately.

Stanton has to keep things going and rolling Friday night.

Pohlman and Tighe have to run wild once again come Friday night.

The Mustangs played a great game against Clarkson/Leigh, and really well against the Jaguars as well.

Now all Stanton has to do is play a great and complete game against GACC and put the finishing touches on the District and regular season.

The Mustangs need to play four good quarters of football.
