Pender blows out Emerson-Hubbard

The Pender Football Team routed Emerson-Hubbard 71-12 at home Friday night.

The Pendragons led 43-6 at halftime. Pender blanked the Pirates 21-0 in the 3rd quarter to go up 64-6 at the end of three.

Pender won the 4th quarter 7-6.

Caleb Trimble had 119 yards rushing on 13 carries, including two touchdowns. Dylan Vogt added 105 yards on 5 carries, and scored twice. Brody Krusemark had 58 yards rushing on 7 carries, and also scored two times.

Braxton Volk was 8-12 for 116 yards passing with three touchdowns. Trimble made 4 receptions for 74 yards, scoring once.

Jacob Bruns made 8 tackles while Jaxon Maise had 7.

The Pendragons had 432 yards of total offense, including 316 rushing.

The Pirates were held to 169 yards of total offense, including 95 on the ground.

Big and dominating win for Pender.

The Pendragons (4-3) travel to Homer to take on the Knights (3-4) in the regular season finale Friday night.

Homer won 58-20 at Randolph last week.

Pender beat the Cardinals 63-0 earlier in the season.

The Knights have won 3 in a row after starting the season 0-4 though.

This should be a fairly good and competitive game I would think.

The Pendragons should win, but anything can happen.

If Pender gets the same kind of production from Trimble, Vogt, and Volk though they are going to be very difficult to beat.

A win puts Pender on the cusp of being an 8 or a 9 seed in the playoffs.

Perhaps the Pendragons will get an 8 seed and host or be a 9 seed and have an opportunity to win their first round game and potentially host in the 2nd round.

Either way Pender needs a strong performance all the way around Friday night.

The Pendragons have to play and tackle well, and must play four good quarters of Football against the Knights.
