Clarkson/Leigh holds off Wisner-Pilger

The Clarkson/Leigh Football Team won 22-20 at home over Wisner-Pilger Friday night.

The game was tied at 6 at the end of the 1st quarter and 14 at halftime. Clarkson/Leigh won the 3rd quarter 8-6 to go up 22-20 at the end of three to make up the final score as both teams were held scoreless in the 4th quarter.

Eli Hays had 100 yards rushing on 13 carries, and scored once. Lance Paprocki rushed for 51 yards on 22 carries. Paprocki was 3-6 passing for 97 yards and scored once.

Hays made 2 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown while Carter Hanel hauled in 2 passes for 67 yards, and scored once.

Trevor Zulkoski made 13 tackles while Hanel made a dozen. Paprocki added 7.

Clarkson/Leigh had 280 yards of total offense, including 155 rushing.

It might not have been pretty for the Patriots, but it was a win.

5-2 Howells-Dodge meets 4-3 Clarkson/Leigh in the Bacon Bowl in Howells Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Jaguars won 36-16 at GACC last week.

Head Coach Jim Clarkson says the Jaguars have a few kids who can play. "The Belina kid looks as good any running back probably in the State. And the quarterback they have there that Tomcak he's done a nice job. And the young offensive line has done a pretty good job for them too, but defensively they're tough as well. I know they have RJ Bayer back now too, I know he missed a good portion of the season and he's back."

The Patriots have been decimated by injury, and will be without the services of Paprocki, who is in quarantine.

That's an unfortunate blow and break for Clarkson/Leigh, but it simply has to be next man up for the Patriots.

Mason Whitmore has to step up at QB for Clarkson/Leigh, and propel this team to victory.

The Patriots have dealt with a lot of tough blows and have had been dealt some tough luck.

I don't know many teams who have had to deal with this many injuries in a season.

Clarkson/Leigh has to focus and get ready for Howells-Dodge Friday night though, and go out there and try and win a Football game.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. with pregame starting at 6:30 on the Bull.
