Stanton 05:23 #35 Gage Tighe runs for 46 yards. Touchdown! (Two point conversion run by #35 Gage Tighe is good.)

Belina ripped off 314 yards rushing on 37 carries, and scored five touchdowns. Tomcak added 51 yards rushing on 9 carries.

Jestin Bayer had 15 tackles while Belina made 12. Blake Sindelar added 11 while Lance Brester notched 10.

Howells-Dodge had 406 yards of total offense, 365 coming on the ground.

The defense surrendered 322 yards of total offense, including 311 rushing.

Head Coach Mike Speirs says his team simply came up a tad bit short. "The effort was good, the game was back and forth all night, we just didn't make the plays at the end of the game to get the win tonight."

Howells-Dodge (4-2) battles GACC (4-2) on the road Friday night.

The Bluejays won 48-32 at Palmyra last week in a replacement game.

I look for this game to be close and go down to the wire.

If Belina has another monster game like he did against the Mustangs then perhaps the Jaguars will win this time around.

The game being in Beemer is an advantage for GACC no doubt though.

But Howells-Dodge is no doubt capable of going in there and winning.

I feel like the Jaguars have been a little more dominant than the Bluejays have been this year, but I also feel like GACC has overachieved.

Still though this game and the game with Clarkson/Leigh next week loom large for Howells-Dodge.

If the Jaguars get the Bluejays this week and the Patriots next week and GACC beats Stanton next week then Howells-Dodge might be able to still win the District Title.

So still lots to play for if you are the Jaguars.

Howells-Dodge has to continue to compete their tails off and do everything in their power to win the District or at least earn a share of it.

The Jaguars are also jockeying for playoff positioning in these next two games as well.
