The Clarkson/Leigh Football Team was shutout 44-0 at Howells-Dodge Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.
The Jaguars scored 16 points in the 1st and 4th quarters, and 6 in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
Mason Whitmore made 12 tackles while Trevor Zulkoski had 11. Kanyon Held added 7.
The Patriots were held to just 101 yards of total offense, including 90 rushing.
Howells-Dodge amassed 390 yards of total offense, including 313 on the ground.
Clarkson/Leigh was simply missing way too many starters to do well in this one.
The Patriots (4-4) take on Cross County (8-0) on the road Thursday night in the first round of the playoffs.
The Cougars beat Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 68-12 at home Friday night to end the regular season.
These two teams met in Leigh back on August 28th with Cross County winning 56-36.
That was when Clarkson/Leigh was at full strength too so I don't know about this one.
The Patriots have been hit really hard by injuries, decimated if you may.
And it's just really hard to compete at an elite level when you're missing your star players and key pieces.
I fully expect Clarkson/Leigh to go out there and play hard and compete come Thursday night, but the Cougars are a very good Football Team.
At the same time I'm sure the Patriots are just happy to be in the playoffs given everything they've gone through.
It has been a very unfortunate season for Clarkson/Leigh from an injury standpoint, yet the Patriots still get to go out there and put on the pads and strap up the chin strap one more time at least.
And even if Clarkson/Leigh doesn't win this one they're gaining some very valuable experience for next year.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. in Stromsburg.
