The Clarkson/Leigh Football Team fell 56-6 at Cross County in the first round of the playoffs Thursday night.
Dylan Higby had 94 yards rushing on 19 carries.
Carter Hanel made 7 tackles.
The Patriots had 157 yards of total offense, including 151 on the ground.
Valiant effort from Clarkson/Leigh, but the Cougars are a great team and having so many injuries and having to play them again this early in the playoffs really hurt the Patriots I feel.
Clarkson/Leigh's season ends at 4-5.
So much potential and promise coming into this season, but injuries really prevented this team from having the type of season they were hoping and expecting to have.
Lance Paprocki was the team's leading rusher this year, rushing for 624 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Paprocki also had 534 yards through the air with 8 TD's.
The Patriots say goodbye to Paprocki, Trevor Zulkoski, Tommy McEvoy, Austin Sayers, and Layne Krutz.
Some big shoes to fill with the departure of these guys for sure.
I wish McEvoy the best of luck at Wyoming next year as he has gone through a lot with tearing both ACL's in High School.
Clarkson/Leigh returns a lot of young talent next year, including Kanyon Held, Mason Whitmore, Kyle Kasik, Eli Hays, Hanel, Higby, Drew Beeson, Jackson Koehn, Kyle Holmberg, Cooper Vance, Mitch Beeson, and others.
Clarkson/Leigh has to be excited about the future and who they bring back.
The Patriots have to work hard this offseason, especially if the pandemic ends before next season rolls around.
Clarkson/Leigh has to try and have a bounce back year next year if at all possible.
That's very possible and attainable for the Patriots too.
