Howells-Dodge shuts out Clarkson/Leigh

The Howells-Dodge Football Team shutout Clarkson/Leigh 44-0 at home Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

Here is the scoring summary and Game Recap from the Game:

Brester had 17 carries for 124 yards, and scored twice. Tomcak added 73 yards rushing on 9 carries, and scored three times. Belina had 63 yards rushing on 10 carries. Tomcak was 6-14 passing for 77 yards.

Aandy Dominguez made 8 tackles.

The Jaguars had 390 yards of total offense, including 313 rushing.

The defense gave up 101 yards of total offense, including 90 on the ground.

Good job by Howells-Dodge taking care of business against a Patriot squad decimated by injury.

Head Coach Mike Speirs on the win. "The boys did a nice job of facing some adversity and having to adjust some positions on the fly tonight."

The Jaguars (6-2) battle GACC (4-4) on the road Thursday night in the first round of the playoffs in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Bluejays fell 60-22 at Stanton in Friday night's regular season finale.

Howells-Dodge beat GACC 36-16 on the road two weeks ago.

This game figures to be closer this time around.

I still look for the Jaguars to win though.

Both teams are relatively young, but Howells-Dodge had the better regular season.

The Bluejays are tough at home though and I think this game will be closer than it was the first time around.

I still look for the Jaguars to win by a touchdown or two though.

The sky is the limit in terms of how far Howells-Dodge can go in the playoffs this year, in my opinion.

Things will be reseeded after this round so the Jaguars could get a favorable matchup in the next round should they beat GACC.

There's a lot of work and preparation for Howells-Dodge to go through, but having GACC and Howells-Dodge playoff Football on the Bull will be a real treat.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. in Beemer with pregame beginning at 6:30 on the Bull.
