BRLD shuts out Wisner-Pilger
The BRLD Football Team shutout Wisner-Pilger 32-0 on the road Friday night.
Jacob Zuhlke had 114 yards rushing on 23 carries, and two touchdowns. Will Gatzemeyer added 59 yards on the ground on 23 attempts, and scored once.
Gatzemeyer was 9-11 passing for 112 yards with a TD.
Tyler Kroger and Seth Totten made 7 tackles apiece.
The Wolverines amassed 326 yards of total offense, including 214 rushing.
Good solid performance from BRLD. The Wolverines' offense probably would of put up more yards and points had the weather been better.
BRLD (3-4) hosts Fremont Bergan (5-2) Friday night.
The Knights won 48-0 at Tekamah-Herman last time out.
The Wolverines knocked off the Tigers 50-14, and I think BRLD can compete with and give Bergan a run for their money.
The Wolverines have a chance to play the role of major spoiler the last two games of the season.
BRLD has to be thinking "if we're not going to the playoffs you aren't either."
The Wolverines have a chance to finish the season 5-4 and take the next steps in their program.
BRLD has played such a tough schedule, and will fight hard against these last two teams, you can bet on that.
I look for the Wolverines to give both all they can handle, and perhaps upset one or both of them.
BRLD has to get pumped and be physical.
The good news for the Wolverines going up against these physical teams is they're a physical team themselves.
BRLD should matchup well against both squads, and both contests should be very close and compelling.
Both games should be slugfests between teams that like to play power, smashmouth football.
The Wolverines have to try and slow down Bergan's Logan Brandt, Ethan Villwok, and Jacob Johnson.
Those three combined for over 300 yards in the Knights' win over Tekamah-Herman.
BRLD has to limit Bergan in the run game to have a shot I would say. The Knights racked up 407 yards rushing against the Tigers.
If the Wolverines can hold Bergan to under 200 yards on the ground, that might be enough to win.
Anything more than that it could be pretty difficult.
