Kade Hegemann made 17 tackles while Jon Yosten totaled 8.
The Jaguars racked up 407 yards of total offense, including 370 on the ground. The defense gave up 135 yards of total offense, 113 of them rushing.
Great performance by Howells-Dodge. I thought this was the Jaguars' most complete game of the season so far.
Howells-Dodge (6-0) hosts Homer (2-4) Friday night.
The Knights lost 44-0 at home to GACC this past Friday night.
This game will be a good measuring stick for the Jaguars in terms of how they match up with the Bluejays.
I really think Howells-Dodge and GACC are two of the better teams that will be on the East Side of the D-1 playoff bracket, along with Creighton, should the Bulldogs be put in the East.
The Jaguars need to keep the foot on the petal, and play impressive Football again Friday night.
Howells-Dodge has to come out and dominate, and get out to a big lead and never look back.
The Jaguars have to be sharp, and get the first team some good reps as well as some good rest.
I think it's important for Howells-Dodge to get every player on the field in this game.
The Jaguars have to play smashmouth, physical football, and tackle well and hit hard.
Howells-Dodge has to play a flawless game on offense with limited penalties and no turnovers.
The Jaguars also need to create turnovers defensively, and give themselves short fields.
The field position battle and special teams play will be also important, in my opinion.
Howells-Dodge could probably use a touchdown return or two on special teams, and would no doubt benefit from blocking a kick.
The most important thing for the Jaguars, in my opinion, is playing a complete four quarter game, and winning the battle in every aspect of the game.
The battle in the trenches will be big, and by judging the way Howells-Dodge ran the ball against the Bulldogs, they should be able to win the battle at the line of scrimmage again this week.
The Jaguars are a well oiled machine, and need to keep things going.
Howells-Dodge is in a very good position to win a District Title and finish the regular season undefeated, the Jaguars just need to keep their eye on the prize.
