Scribner-Snyder drops game to Osceola

The Osceola Football team went into Scribner Friday night and left town with a 38-6 victory over Scribner-Snyder.

Brennan Bryan got the scoring started for the Bulldogs, plunging in from a yard out to make it an 8-0 game in favor of Osceola at the 8:07 mark of the 1st Quarter.

Caden Theis hit Carter Boden on a 72-yard TD pass with 3:45 left to go in the opening period, and the Bulldogs led 16-0.

Theis hit Boden on a 16-yard TD pass with just over 6 minutes left to go until halftime, and Osceola extended their lead to 24-0.

Theis ran one in from a yard out with 1:02 remaining in the 3rd quarter to give the Bulldogs a 32-0 advantage.

The Trojans' Austin Peters scored from 29 yards out with 6:30 left in the 4th quarter to make it a 32-6 game in favor of Osceola.

Bryan found the end zone for a second time, this time from 40 yards out to make up the final score.

Peters ran the ball 22 times for 131 yards, and scored a touchdown. Sebastian Arnold added 112 yards rushing on 27 carries.

The Bulldogs rolled up 326 yards of total offense, including 178 on the ground, while the Trojans totaled 242 yards of offense, all on the ground.

Head Coach Anthony Ruzicka says he liked the running game that gained more than 240 yards.  "Yeah the line did a great job, backs did a good job. Overall, I'm really, really happy with how they played. Played with some iron in their belly finally, and it was a good night."

Scribner-Snyder (0-7) hosts Cedar Bluffs (1-6) Friday night in the season finale.

The Wildcats lost 60-8 at home to Humphrey St. Francis this past Friday night.

Ruzicka is hoping to get a win. "We're hoping. I think we match up well against Cedar. And watch a little bit of film on them, and I think we match up well so it'll be a good game."

The Trojans are going to wear some alternate uniforms for the game, and are going to try and create a little excitement it appears.

Scribner-Snyder has to run the ball like there is no tomorrow, because there isn't for the Trojans.

This is it for Scribner-Snyder. The final game of the year for the Trojans.

Scribner-Snyder has to want to win this game for their seniors.

The Trojans have a chance to be perfect for just one night, and enjoy themselves.

Scribner-Snyder has to take care of the ball, and has to tackle and block well as well.

Limiting penalties will be crucial for the Trojans as well, in my opinion.

Scribner-Snyder is going to need to play a great game to come away with the win.

Anything is possible though, and the Trojans are certainly capable of coming away with the win.

Scribner-Snyder has to play physical, smashmouth, in your face Football, and pound the ball right at the Wildcats with their big offensive line.

The Trojans have to be like the mid 90's Huskers, and wear down Cedar Bluffs with the ground game.

Controlling clock and shortening the game and keeping the defense off the field as much as possible will be critical for Scribner-Snyder in my opinion.

The Trojans have to find ways to put the ball in the end zone more, and get more stops defensively.

Scribner-Snyder has to limit big plays, and force Cedar Bluffs to drive the length of the field.

Getting big returns in the kicking and punting games will be important for Scribner-Snyder as well, in my opinion.
