GACC handles Winnebago

The GACC Football team routed Winnebago 66-28 at home Friday night.

With the win, the Bluejays earn at least a share of the District D1-2 crown.

GACC (7-0) can win the district title outright Thursday night when they take on Pender (3-4) on the road.

The Pendragons are coming off a 66-38 win at Omaha Nation Friday night.

You can bet Pender will come ready to play given the fact their season is on the line.

The Pendragons need to win this game or their season is likely done.

Pender can also earn at least a share of the district title by winning too, although the Bluejays would still probably win the tiebreaker should they lose, and should Winnebago beat Homer to end the season.

All that talk could be for nothing though as I fully expect GACC to come out and take care of business.

I think this game is a good tune up for the playoffs for the Bluejays.

I think this contest is just what GACC needs to get ready for the postseason.

I look for the Bluejays to come out and win big.

I think GACC's offense will assert themselves very nicely against the Pendragons, and I feel Pender's offense will put up some points on the Bluejays, but not nearly enough to win.

I think this contest will be similar to the Pendragons' games with CWCE and Wakefield.

GACC needs to win this one badly to improve their playoff seeding.

Right now, the Bluejays wouldn't be a real high seed for an undefeated team, but if Plainview and Clarkson/Leigh could win their last games, GACC could gain some more power points.

Both those teams have very tough games to end the regular season, but anything is certainly possible.

The Bluejays just have to come out and play well and control what they can control, which is their effort and performance on the field.

GACC has to come out and dominate, and prepare themselves for another deep playoff run.

The pieces and horses are in place for the Bluejays to make another run at the State Championship, and much like last week, GACC has to be in championship form Thursday night.

I look for the Bluejays to stake claim to an early lead, and dominate for four quarters.

I think this could be GACC's best performance of the year.
