The Wisner-Pilger Football Team lost 56-20 at home to Logan View Friday night.
The 20-point output by the Gators was the most they've scored this season so that's a good sign for Wisner-Pilger.
The Gators (0-8) travel to Tekamah to take on Tekamah-Herman (1-7) Friday night in the season finale.
The Tigers lost 47-6 at Oakland-Craig this past Friday night.
Who can forget last year's game in Wisner when the Gators won 72-26 and racked up a school and 11-man state record 777 yards of total offense, including 531 on the ground.
That broke Wisner-Pilger's school record of 590 set in 2011.
Wisner-Pilger also broke Omaha South's 11 man all-class
record of 760 yards set in 1991.I'm sure that's an effort the Gators would like to duplicate or even exceed.
It will be very tough to do it again, but given Wisner-Pilger's offensive output against Logan View, one would have to say there is potential.
The Gators can definitely win this game, and a win would be a great way to head into next season.
I feel Tekamah-Herman has been a little bit better and stronger than Wisner-Pilger to this point in the season, but that doesn't mean the Gators can't win.
Players like Hunter Waterman, Keegan Ruskamp, and Jayden Raabe need to have huge games for Wisner-Pilger.
The Gators have to throw the kitchen sink at the Tigers, and give Tekamah-Herman everything they've got.
It has been another long and frustrating season for this young Wisner-Pilger squad, and so like last year, the Gators need to take out their season long frustrations out on the Tigers.
Wisner-Pilger did that and then some last year so I don't see why the Gators can't do that again Friday night.
Wisner-Pilger hasn't had a lot go right and good this season, and so it would be nice to see the Gators have some success in this game.
This is one of those games you hope to see both teams play well, and do some positive things that will hopefully springboard them into the offseason, and lead to better things next season.
