Logan View downs Wisner-Pilger

The Logan View Football team stopped their two-game losing streak Friday night, winning 56-20 at Wisner-Pilger.

Jacob Polk was 6-8 passing for 101 yards with a touchdown. Polk had 134 yards rushing on 8 carries, and scored twice.

Nolan Miller hauled in 2 passes for 57 yards, and scored once.

The Raiders racked up 352 yards of offense, including 252 on the ground.

Head Coach Dustin Sealey says Polk was a big factor in the win. "If Jacob Polk plays well, the Logan View Raiders usually have a good Friday night. I was really impressed with his decisions and throwing the ball."

Logan View (5-3) hosts BRLD (4-4) Friday night.

The Wolverines upset Fremont Bergan 20-14 at home this past Friday night.

This is a must win game for the Raiders if they hope to go to the playoffs.

Sealey says everything hangs in the balance Friday night. "Being a playoff team is the next step for our team and football program. BRLD is a talented team and there is the “do or die” pressure. I am excited to see how we respond."

It should be a great matchup between Polk and Brady Hull and Will Gatzemeyer and Jacob Zuhlke for BRLD.

Sealey says his squad has to play physical smart defense to slow down Gatzemeyer and Zuhlke.

Sealey adds his team can't afford to make many mistakes Friday night. "We are going to have to be on top of our game. That means disciplined on both sides of the ball. The margin for error in these types of games is extremely small."

That means the Raiders can't miss any blocking assignments, have to limit penalties and turnovers, and simply cannot make any dumb, boneheaded plays or commit any silly personal fouls or things of that nature.

Logan View has to play smart Football out there.

The Raiders have to realize what is at stake Friday night.

It's a chance to go to the playoffs and extend your season. Lose and it's go home.

This team has come too far and played too well this year to have their season come to a close.

The thing is though Logan View is facing a BRLD team that has won four out of their last five after starting the year 0-3.

The Wolverines have improved each and every week, and will be tough for the Raiders to knock off, there's no question about it.

With that said, Logan View beat BRLD last year, and I think the Raiders can do it again this year.

It won't be easy, but Logan View can definitely get the job done.

I think the game being at Logan View really helps the Raiders.

It should be a great game and a great night of High School Football, and I can't wait to find out what the score of the game ends up being when I go on to do the Lincoln Street Market High School Scoreboard Show Friday night during the 10:00 hour on 107.9 the Bull.
