Logan View loses rain soaked game to Oakland-Craig

In a soggy, rained soaked game Friday night, the Logan View Football Team came up short against Oakland-Craig, losing 18-14 at home.

Knights' signal caller Evan Reinert got Oakland-Craig on the board first, scoring from a yard out to put the Knights up 6-0 with 6:35 left to go in the first quarter.

The Raiders' Brady Hull scored on a 2-yard TD plunge with 3:48 remaining in the first quarter, and Logan View captured a 7-6 lead.

Reinert scored another touchdown on an 8-yard run with 48 seconds left to go until halftime, and Oakland-Craig held a 12-7 halftime advantage.

Hull scored from 4 yards out with 6:52 left to go in the 3rd Quarter, and the Raiders went up 14-12.

Reinert connected with Garrett Seagren on a 10-yard TD pass with 10:35 left to go in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

For Logan View, Polk went 3-9 passing for 62 yards while Hull rushed the ball 19 times for 59 yards and scored two touchdowns.

The Knights amassed 304 yards of total offense, including 161 passing, while the Raiders had 187 yards of total offense, 125 coming on the ground.

Not an easy defeat to accept if you're Logan View. The Raiders had their chances.

Logan View (4-3) travels to Wisner to take on Wisner-Pilger (0-7) Friday night.

The Gators lost 32-0 at home to BRLD this past Friday night.

The Raiders need to win this game if they have any hope of making the playoffs.

Right now, Logan View is 18th in power points, and two wins might be enough to sneak into the postseason.

The Raiders shouldn't change anything from what they've been doing all season. Logan View has simply come up short the last two weeks.

The Raiders have to use this game with the Gators as a tune up and a get ready game for the BRLD contest at the end of the regular season.

Logan View has to get out to a big lead and never look back.

The Raiders have to score early and often against Wisner-Pilger, and play the type of defense teams have played against the Gators all season long.

Wisner-Pilger is young, and Logan View has to take advantage of that.

The Raiders need to be aggressive on offense and defense, and dial up some blitzes and big pass plays.

Polk needs to get things going with his arm, and Hull needs to get things going in the ground game.

Both need to increase and amp up their production from the Oakland-Craig game.

The Gators' defense isn't nearly as tough as the Knights' so Polk and Hull should have their way with Wisner-Pilger.

It should be a big win for Logan View, setting the stage for what could be a playoff clinching game against BRLD.

One game at a time though. The Raiders must be focused on beating Wisner-Pilger. Logan View can't be looking beyond this week.

There's obviously a lot on the line for the Raiders the rest of this season, but any playoff hopes Logan View has will be dashed if the Raiders don't get past this week.
