BRLD wins over Tekamah-Herman

The BRLD Football Team picked up a 54-16 win at Tekamah-Herman Friday night in High School Football action on 107.9 the Bull.

BRLD led 16-0 at the end of one, and both teams scored 8 points in the 2nd quarter to make it a 24-8 game at halftime in favor of the Wolverines.

BRLD shutout the Tigers 22-0 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 46-8 at the end of three.

Both teams put up 8 points in the 4th quarter.

The Wolverines gave up 327 yards of offense, including 242 rushing.

Head Coach Dan Maresh credits his defense for stopping two 4th and goal drives. "If they would of got on the board there, hanging around in this game, they would of really got a lot of confidence from those scores. What they were doing on offense was really giving us fits. We weren't able to replicate their speed in practice, and they were catching us off guard. And if they would of punched a couple in there we would of been in it for quite the dog fight."

BRLD (5-1) hosts Louisville (1-5) Friday night.

The Lions lost 47-0 at home to Oakland-Craig last week.

This is the Wolverines' last tune up game before the real fun begins.

Games against Fremont Bergan and Oakland-Craig to end the regular season figure to decide the district and determine playoff seeding.

The Wolverines need to work out any final kinks in the armor so to speak and get themselves in tip top shape for the final two weeks of the regular season.

BRLD needs to score early and often, and put Louisville away and get backups in there and rest starters.

The Wolverines have to go out there and enjoy this game and have a fun time hitting hard, creating turnovers, manufacturing big runs and passes, and just being flat out physical.

BRLD has to bring the fight and wood to the Lions for 4 quarters, and show no mercy.

This is one the Wolverines should win, and win big, and they can't disappoint.

BRLD is a great team, and has shown how good and dominant they are and can be.

The Wolverines have to go out there and enjoy this last "gimme" game before the big boys come calling.

BRLD has to be sharp and on point from the start Friday night, and has to take the fight to and bring the lunch pail against Louisville.

This game is a good measuring stick to see where the Wolverines stand against Bergan and Oakland-Craig.

Bergan belted Louisville 63-7 at home two weeks ago so BRLD has to do something similar to what both Knights' teams did.

It's a three horse race between the Wolverines, Oakland-Craig, and Bergan for the District, but BRLD can't overlook the Lions and get too ahead of themselves.

The Wolverines have to stay the course and path, and focus on beating Louisville Friday night.

BRLD can worry about Fremont Bergan after taking care of business against the Lions.

It should be a fun end to the regular season for the Wolverines though.
