West Point-Beemer falls at home to Pierce

The West Point-Beemer Football Team lost 45-7 at home to Pierce Friday night.

The Bluejays led 14-0 at the end of one and shutout the Cadets 10-0 in the 2nd quarter to take a 24-0 lead into the locker room.

Pierce blanked West Point-Beemer 14-0 in the 3rd quarter to go up 38-0 at the end of three.

Both teams scored one touchdown in the 4th quarter.

The Cadets gave up 498 yards of total offense, including 476 on the ground.

I thought West Point-Beemer would make things closer with the Bluejays than they did. Pierce definitely played a whale of a game.

The Cadets (6-2) wrap up the regular season Friday night at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (1-7).

The Raiders lost 42-6 at Columbus Scotus last week.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder may be 1-7, but I feel the Raiders are a better team than what their record indicates.

It's the last game of the season for LVSS too so you know the Raiders will come prepared and ready to play and give West Point-Beemer a game.

You can bet the Cadets will get Logan View/Scribner-Snyder's best shot.

West Point-Beemer has to be ready to stop the Raiders' running attack.

The Cadets had a really tough time stopping the run last week, and need to change their fortunes this week.

West Point-Beemer no doubt wants to shore up their run defense before the playoffs start.

The Cadets have one more week to do that, and get back on track.

I do think West Point-Beemer will find a way to win Friday night, but feel the game could be close and competitive.

The Cadets just have to finish drives and execute in the red zone, something they struggled to do against Pierce.

Finish has to be the motto for West Point-Beemer this week.

The Cadets have to finish what they started, and do everything they can to secure a first round home playoff game.

West Point-Beemer should be able to host a playoff game with a win over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.

The Cadets might be an 8 seed, but all West Point-Beemer can do is take care of business Friday night and sit back and see what happens.

The Cadets don't want to go on the road though so this one is key and critical for West Point-Beemer.

The Cadets have to come up big and play well, and perform at the highest level possible all while having fun and enjoying themselves Friday night.
