The Jaguars led 14-6 after one, and outscored the Warriors 16-6 in the 2nd quarter to lead 30-12 at halftime.

Neither team scored in the 3rd quarter, but both teams scored 8 points in the 4th quarter.

Horejsi rushed for 126 yards on 23 carries, and scored twice. Darrin Pokorny was 12-15 passing for 161 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Trevor Schumacher hauled in 4 passes for 74 yards while  Rocheford had 5 catches for 50 yards with two touchdowns.

Schumacher and Levi Belina had 11 tackles apiece while Pokorny racked up 9. Rocheford made 8 while Lane Hegemann notched 7.

Howells-Dodge racked up 383 yards of total offense, including 222 rushing.

The defense gave up just 144 yards of total offense, including only 52 on the ground.

It appears the Jaguars were without Kade Hegemann once again, but kids really stepped up and performed. I was very impressed with Pokorny's performance. That was by far his best game of the year. The defense was tremendous too, especially in stopping the run.

Howells-Dodge (3-2) takes on Elkhorn Valley (2-3) on the road Friday night.

The Falcons lost 60-24 at Lutheran High Northeast last week.

I feel Elkhorn Valley is an improving team, but not quite at the Jaguars'  level.

Howells-Dodge has to keep their foot on the pedal and throttle, but I felt like last week was the Jaguars' last major test of the season.

I look for Howells-Dodge to win the rest of their games and finish the regular season 6-2.

It's going to be really tough for the Jaguars to win the District, but Howells-Dodge has to do what they can, which is win out and remain hopeful that LHNE slips up a couple of times.

Braedyn Ollendick and Josh McFarland are the players to watch out for for Elkhorn Valley.

Ollendick was 19-32 passing for 181 yards with an interception against the Eagles while McFarland ran for 76 yards on 23 carries, and scored twice.

The Jaguars need to have a repeat performance of last week, and stuff the run and contain Elkhorn Valley's passing game.

I feel Howells-Dodge will be up to the challenge of slowing down the Falcons' offense, and will explode offensively kind of like they did last week.

Pokorny has to step up again as does Horejsi.

Pokorny has to become consistent now that he's had a great game.

You know what you're going to get from Horejsi, but can Pokorny play well again this week?

Pokorny needs to have another performance like he did last week for the Jaguars to be successful.

If Howells-Dodge plays like they did last week, they should roll to a big win, but if the Jaguars play like they did against LHNE then Howells-Dodge could find themselves in a dog fight.

The Jaguars need to come ready to play like they did last week, and if they do, they should win big.

Howells-Dodge has to finish the regular season strong and get ready for another big playoff run.

Beating the Falcons is the next step in making those two things happen, and I look for the Jaguars to win Friday night.
