Emerson-Hubbard blows out Mead

The Emerson-Hubbard Football Team routed Mead 54-14 at home Friday night.

The Pirates doubled up the Raiders 16-8 in the 1st quarter, and outscored Mead 22-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 38-14 lead into the locker room.

Emerson-Hubbard blanked the Raiders 16-0 in the 3rd quarter to go up 54-14 at the end of three.

Neither team scored in the 4th quarter.

Nolan Belt was 6-7 passing for 109 yards with two touchdowns. Spencer Burcham hauled in 4 passes for 93 yards, and scored twice. Nolan Ostrand had 10 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown while Burcham rushed for 54 yards on 11 carries, and scored once.

Ostrand and Jacob Kneifl totaled 16 tackles apiece while Micah Lamprecht had 15. Belt chipped in 9.

The Pirates had 301 yards of total offense, including 192 rushing.

The defense gave up 161 yards of total offense, 123 coming on the ground.

Great win and great performance by Emerson-Hubbard. Definitely the Pirates' biggest win of the year without a doubt.

Emerson-Hubbard (3-2) takes on Omaha Christian Academy (0-5) on the road Friday night.

The Eagles lost 66-14 at home to Clarkson/Leigh last week, a game the Patriots led 60-0 at halftime.

I look for the Pirates to win this one big.

I don't think Emerson-Hubbard will have much trouble with Omaha Christian Academy whatsoever.

This is one of those games where the Pirates should get up big and be able to rest starters in the 2nd half.

Emerson-Hubbard should get the 2nd teamers some good experience and playing time.

The Pirates are only two deep at most positions at best as they only have 19 kids out for the team.

I think it's important for Emerson-Hubbard to be focused and put the Eagles away early.

The last thing the Pirates want is for Omaha Christian Academy to hang around and think they have a chance.

Emerson-Hubbard wants to put the foot on the throttle early and often, and take care of business.

The Pirates just assume dominate early and put a dent on the scoreboard and get the starters out of there.

Emerson-Hubbard has Pender and Clarkson/Leigh to end the regular season so the Pirates need everyone fresh and ready to go for those contests.

Emerson-Hubbard should be in the playoffs with two more wins, but I think the District will come down to Emerson-Hubbard and Clarkson/Leigh at the end of the regular season.

The Pirates have to take care of business Friday night, and then focus on securing a playoff berth before worrying about the District Championship.

It has to be one step, one game at a time for Emerson-Hubbard.

The Pirates can't get too ahead of themselves, they have to keep pressing forward and playing well.

I feel Emerson-Hubbard is getting better every week, but really took some steps forward last week.

I think the Pirates' best football is ahead of them and the best is yet to come for Emerson-Hubbard.

The defense really stepped up last week, and I think that's a trend that needs to continue for the Pirates to be successful.
