Clarkson/Leigh routs Omaha Christian Academy

The Clarkson/Leigh Football Team rolled to a big 66-14 win at Omaha Christian Academy Friday night.

The Patriots led 36-0 at the end of one, and shutout the Eagles 24-0 in the 2nd quarter to take a 60-0 lead into the locker room.

Omaha Christian Academy won the 3rd quarter 8-0 to make it a 60-8 game at the end of three in favor of Clarkson/Leigh.

Both teams scored 6 points in the 4th quarter.

Tommy McEvoy carried the ball 5 times for 121 yards and scored three touchdowns. Travis Stanley had 62 yards on the ground on 6 carries, and scored twice. Lance Paprocki added 51 yards on the ground on 5 carries, including two touchdowns.

The Patriots amassed 315 yards of total offense, including 290 on the ground.

Clarkson/Leigh wasn't super dominate statistically, at least on offense, but the Patriots dominated where it matters most, and that's on the scoreboard.

Clarkson/Leigh (3-2) hosts Cedar Bluffs (1-4) Friday night.

The Wildcats lost 92-70 at home to Pender last week.

The Patriots defeated the Pendragons 68-14 so Clarkson/Leigh should have their way with Cedar Bluffs as well.

The Patriots have to enjoy these next two home games before the trip to Emerson-Hubbard the last week of the regular season.

I really think the game against the Pirates will decide who wins the District.

Clarkson/Leigh can't slip up in any of their upcoming games though.

The Patriots must take care of business this week against the Wildcats and Mead next week.

Clarkson/Leigh controls their own destiny, and this team just seemed to find another gear following the first two losses of the season.

I feel Clarkson/Leigh really found themselves against Parkview Christian, and hasn't looked back.

McEvoy is a great player, and he needs to keep having big games for Clarkson/Leigh.

I was really impressed with the Patriots' balance in the run game against the Eagles though.

I think Clarkson/Leigh proved they are about more than just McEvoy with their offensive balance in the run game.

I look for the Patriots to play another great game Friday night, and come away with another big win.

I think the game will be lopsided with Clarkson/Leigh scoring a lot of points and holding down Cedar Bluffs' offense.

The Patriots are on a whole nother level than the Wildcats, and I don't expect Clarkson/Leigh to have much trouble in this game whatsoever.

The Patriots have to do what they did against Omaha Christian Academy....score early and often, and put the game away.

As long as Clarkson/Leigh handles their business and doesn't mess around with Cedar Bluffs they should be fine and win big.

The Patriots have a lot to gain in the coming weeks though so Clarkson/Leigh can't afford a slip up.
