West Point-Beemer shuts out Boone Central/Newman Grove

The West Point-Beemer Football Team shutout Boone Central/Newman Grove 14-0 at home Friday night.

The Cadets scored touchdowns in both the 1st and 2nd quarters in what was a scoreless second half.

The defense gave up just 109 yards of total offense, including 49 passing.

Very nice win for West Point-Beemer. Outstanding defensive performance from the Cadets as well.

West Point-Beemer (5-1) takes on Wayne (3-3) on the road Friday night.

The Blue Devils won 26-16 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder last week.

Of course who can forget last year's game when Hunter Pilakowksi hit Ben Vander Griend on a halfback pass to win the games for the Cadets.

West Point-Beemer is having another special season, and I look for the Cadets to go up there and leave town with a win.

The Blue Devils only lost to Wahoo 16-0 though, although the Cadets beat Arlington by a bigger margin than Wayne did.

Things could be tight again this year, but I think West Point-Beemer will find a way to win and pull things out.

The Cadets really did a nice job bouncing back from the Wahoo loss.

I was concerned with how West Point-Beemer would respond following the loss to the Warriors, but the Cadets answered the bell in a big way.

West Point-Beemer faces a new challenge this week, but I look for the Cadets to pass it just like they did last week.

West Point-Beemer has to try and make things less dramatic this time though if they can.

I don't know if the Blue Devils are a strong a team as they were last year though so perhaps the Cadets won't have such a difficult time this time around.

Either way all that matters is that you win, and that's certainly something West Point-Beemer has done a lot of the last couple of years, and is something I look for them to continue to do the rest of this season and beyond.

The Cadets are right where they want to be in terms of winning the District so West Point-Beemer has to come out and take it to Wayne Friday night and get ready for Pierce next week.

The Cadets have to get Blake Anderson and Jesus Barragan out in space and let them do their thing, and the offensive line has to do a good job of blocking as well.

West Point-Beemer has to go out there and play Cadet Football, and if they do that then they should be just fine.
